NaNoWriMo – I’m a Winner (again).
Thrilled to bits. Just uploaded my Work In Progress to NaNoWriMo for 2012 and the word count passed 50,000 (I’ve managed 52, 359 words so far) and I am now officially a Winner.
I’ve still got lots more to write and it all needs editing and messing around with but I have achieved my goal of at least 50,000 words in 30 days. The rest is a bonus.
I have got my certificate which I need to print off but in the meantime I have this badge:

Winner NaNoWriMo 2012
This is my second year of participating and I recommend it to anyone. Great for focus and discipline and a sense of achievement too.
More about WIP Novel for NaNoWriMO when I am nearer completion and all the ‘kinks’ have been ironed out.

Congrats, Jane! I didn’t get anywhere near my goal! LOL. I just had too many projects going at once! I can’t wait to read your book… When can I? 😉 I wish you the best!!! xoxo

Kristy thanks for your visit. I have three books on the go including the one I started for NaNoWriMo so it is in the queue. I hope that my co-write with a dear friend will be finished after the New Year and we hope her publisher will like it. Then Ms Birdsong Investigates needs going over with a fine tooth-comb and if all is well, I hope I can get interest in it in 2013 or failing that, I may well put it out on Kindle. So the NaNo book will be next in line after all this. There is even a fourth book partly written but I am not really going there for a while…..lots of edits and possible re-writes needed. Think with the time I have left I will train as a brain surgeon!! All the best to you too and no doubt we shall catch up soon. xx

Congratulations, Jane. Shame we don’t have time to do a NaNoWriMo every month (like Anna Jacobs does!). 🙂

Well, Morgen I would if I had time. I am like you, got several things on the go at once and so a whole novel is a bit much. But I do have two almost finished of my own and the co-write is almost completed once we both get back to it again. I am enjoying the short stories as well and I have had a few messages re my Flash Fiction which has encouraged me. I just wish they would post on your blog. With all you do on your blog and all you get done in your day I am surprised your creative juices haven’t run dry. Obviously they have not. xx

I think (hope) I have more ideas than my lifetime (if I live to be 100). I have a dozen or so display books (40 pockets = 80 sides) of newspaper cuttings which I can use as inspiration but I’m very lucky that I can write a story from a one-word prompt – actually this NaNo novel started as a 328-word flash fiction which was from the one-word prompt of ‘legs’. 🙂

Morgen, I know you have loads of ideas and it is time to get it all down I know. I am sure you will achieve more than I can dream of and faster too. You pack so much into a day it is unreal! I do write from word prompts, usually in my writing group for the weekly competitions, it is fun and makes the grey cells work overtime. Legs – sounds intriguing…crime too….cannot wait.

Next on the list is getting a mystery out, not so much crime and certainly not as shocking as legs (‘Once Perfect’) but feedback very positive so far. 🙂

Good luck with your crime novel. I shall no doubt catch up soon with them.

Thanks Linda I try my best. It is good discipline. Not sure it makes sense yet….needs edits etc. Still lots to add to it as well. But appreciate your taking time to comment. You know, as a writer, how hard it is working alone and sometimes a deadline is a good kick in the pants. xx
