Saturday Sunshine Moment
It’s that time again….time for a Sunshine Moment to brighten our day and lift our spirits.

Nepalese Courtship dance demonstrated by Gurkha’s and their partners. (c) Jane Risdon 2011
I watched this take place on Heritage Day at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst a few years ago and thought how lovely it must be to have such a tradition. It made me hope that after a few years in England, the Nepalese and the Gurkhas don’t follow our traditions and do their courting in a Pub or On-line…..not much dancing goes on there.
Which reminds me of the piece I wrote here some months ago: ‘Dancing Around Our Zimmer Frames,’ which was posted here on March 7th 2013.
I explored how dancing had been a constant presence in my life and the lives of many others growing up in England in the 1960’s to the present day.

Lovely ‘photos, Jane! And I agree with you; dancing and dances are so important to our lives. Little wonder we see dancing in just about every culture.

Exactly my point Margo and this demonstration was lovely….the little ones did a dance later. I have it all on Video but too large to upload here sadly. You would have loved it I am sure.
