As the wind howls around the house today and it is allegedly going to be below freezing in the next few days, this first post from author Amy Reade is very appealing… Some warming recipes from around the world…looks like a place to drop into on Tuesdays.

Happy New Year! Welcome to another installment of my monthly First Tuesday Recipes series. This month we’re going international. I’ve got an Eastern European comfort food, a French-inspired entrée, and a German side dish.

Let’s get cooking!

Chicken Babka

For the dough:

  • 1 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/4 t. salt
  • 1 t. baking powder
  • 1/2 c. solid Crisco (do NOT use butter)

  • 3 T. milk

For the filling:

  • 2 c. cooked chicken breast, chopped
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery

  1. A lovely author interview, Jane. I didn’t realise you were part of the When Stars Will Shine anthology. Esther Chilton featured this book on her blog today and I shared her post to Debby Gies FB site.

Please leave a reply and comment - your input is really appreciated. Thanks, Jane
