I took these photos over a period of time on different occasions. I came across them when looking for a particular photo. I have many albums of photos (compiled in the days of film and developing) going back to my early teens, and sadly I have found that many have faded, especially Polaroid photos, which is sad. Fading memories.
I decided I had to scan them on to my computer or they would be lost forever and most have been scanned successfully, but several are beyond saving I fear.
Anyway, I have many albums and collections of photos, including digital photos and it was as I was going through the thousands I have on my computer and hard-drives that I came across these shown here.
I hope you like them, I thought I’d post them in the hope they’d help cheer you up whilst we are all in lock-down around the globe. Also, because I wanted to see them here.
I’m off to find some more… keep well and safe all.

Definitely beautiful and cheery Jane. Good idea about scanning the photos. My god, I have so many I’d like to scan over that proverbial ‘someday’ lol ::) ❤

Kept putting it off and then needed one to show someone and was shocked at how much it had faded, faces gone! So upsetting.

It’s always a shame when photos degrade, but unfortunately, it would seem that almost no technology is immune from some sort of degradation, even digital media, so it’s important to back up, copy, & transfer to new media when available. One does need to be systematic, though! Cheers, Jon.

Yep but sadly these seemed to ahve deteroriated before there was digital or even the internet. I have been doing backing up fors some time. Thousands of photos to scan and deal with. But even DATS, 2″ tape and CD’s have not got a long shelf life.

Thank you for sharing your photos. The garden ones remind me of the Norfolk Botanical Gardens, a favorite place when I lived in Virginia.

Liz, I love Virginia. So green. Have you ever been to the Huntingdon Gardens, museum and library near Pasadena, California? You’d love it in that case. Take a year to walk around it all and see it all. My photos are all on film and I need to develope them. Have you got any of Norfolk B Gardens?

The only place I’ve been to in California is San Diego and surrounding areas. I have photos of the Norfolk Botanical Gardens in boxes on a shelf in the closet.

Yes, I can see why my daughter likes living there–although it’s too brown for my taste.

Yes, our daughter took us to Old Town San Diego, which we enjoyed. She tried to get us to as many historic sites as we had time for.
