Winkworth Arboretum: one of my favourite ‘jollies.’
A fabulous day out for the whole family. Lots of fresh air and breathtaking vistas.
I’ve been several times, in all four seasons, and I always find something new to see and enjoy.
The most gorgeous trees and countryside. Owned by the National Trust.

Viewing platforms to survey a vast expanse of countryside.

Wonderful wood carvings on seats that overlook vast expanses of woods, and fields.

Bluebells and wild flowers

A great place to wipe away the cares and troubles of the day surrounded by a variety of trees, lovely shrubs, and hedgerows any time of the year.
These photos were taken by me on one of my ‘jollies.’ I do hope you enjoy them.

Go to my archives (scroll to the right of my website to discover more of my ‘jollies,’ and trips out). Villages, grand houses, churches, and cathedrals, have been visited and I share some of the histories to go with them.
For example here is one of my ‘jollies,’ to Hardwick Hall.
