I took these photos over a period of time on different occasions. I came across them when looking for a particular photo. I have many albums of photos (compiled in the days of film and developing) going back to my early teens, and sadly I have found that many have faded, especially Polaroid photos, which is sad. Fading memories. I […]

With more twists and turns than Spaghetti Junction - gripping edge-of-your-seat crime stories
My books are firmly on the darker edges of crime fiction, but I know, from personal experience (having lived with a psychopath for a number of years) and being aware of what is reported in the news, that the acts my antagonists carry out are all happening in real life.

If you have encountered any of my work before, then you can’t have failed to notice I have something of a passion for the outlaw Robin Hood. This obsession, which struck at the age of 14, came from a deep and all consuming love for the television series, Robin of Sherwood. Thirty three years later, and my fascination with this legendary hero remains, as does my interest in the real fourteenth century family that guided my historical research when I was a PhD student back in the 1990’s. The Folvilles of Ashby Folville in Leicestershire - who have since gone on to provide the focus for my medieval crime series, The Folville Chronicles.
5.0 out of 5 stars Intriguing collection
A fantastic collection of short stories by Jane Risdon who is fast becoming one of my favourite authors. Each story twist and turns and just when you think you have figured it out it twists again. The stories are so well written the only problem I have is that once started I cannot put the book down! Looking forward to the Ms Birdsong book, the taster at the end of the book had me hooked. Jane is such a versatile author whether it's Crime, Murder Mystery, or a Love Story ( Only One Woman) the reader is captivated from page 1.
Thank you so much, Jane, for your warm welcome. I am delighted to be on your blog today to talk about my first ever Christmas romance, BLUEBELL’S CHRISTMAS MAGIC, which is my third romantic novel to be released by Choc Lit UK.

It’s been a while since I’ve shared some photos so here goes. I hope you enjoy them. I’ve been out and about enjoying the countryside and fresh air. A much needed break from my writing. All of these gardens and great houses have fabulous walks, woods, lakes, and forestry as well as formal gardens for public enjoyment. They all have the most fantastic histories too. Check their websites for opening details, entry fees, and car park charges (where applicable). Members of The National Trust and of The Savill Gardens who pay an annual fee can enter free. I have included websites where possible in case you are keen to know more or to arrange a visit yourself. I’ve taken these photos on my phone camera. I hope you have enjoyed my photos and the details with them which I’ve added so that anyone interested can find more information if they wish. Do let me know if I have inspired you to visit any of these amazing places. Next time I’ll share some more. Thanks for being here. Jane x All photos (c) Jane Risdon 2019 and All Rights Reserved.

Getting my hands on a paperback copy of my writing, seeing it in a store or online; from my head to the pages of a book never ceases to thrill me
I’m back on theauthorsshow.com today having a good natter and a giggle about writing and Only One Woman, so do drop in. Let me know if you do. https://wnbnetworkwest.com/WnbAuthorsShow6.html Chatting about Only One Woman, writing it with the lovely Christina Jones and how we managed to do it given we were never in the same room together, let alone the same county! I’m reading an extract from Renza’s diary where she excitedly visits Carnaby Street for the first time, with her cousin and gets to enjoy the sights, sounds and fab fashions of the late 1960s. Join Renza as she pops into POP and Lady Jane. Listen as she captures the vibe of the record stores and the music blaring from them. It’s all there in this reading and you can read lots more in Only One Woman (Headline/Accent Press) Available from Waterstones, WH Smith and most digital platforms. 56 5* reviews Amazon alone.ISBN: 97803597839ASIN: BO7RFRVL4Phttps://www.amazon.co.uk/Only-One-Woman-Christ…/…/1783757310 ISBN: 97803597839ASIN: BO7RFRVL4P books2read.com/u/mlegkP
Undercover: Crime Shorts is a collection of 7 short stories under one cover for the first time. Stories with more twists and turns than Spaghetti Junction, edge of your seat tension and drama builds with each story.
reat read with real characters that took me back to the fabulous 1960s, They say if you remember the 60s you weren't there. Well, the writers of Only One Woman were certainly there and so was I. This lovely novel with it's well-drawn and very real characters, references to the bands and records of the time, which I bought and played, transported me back to a wonderful time in my life; my teens. The story kept me turning the pages. Although my feelings changed towards certain characters as I neared the end of the story, it made it even more interesting and exciting, I loved the ending. I loved the book.
Those of you who pop in often will know I love to walk and take photos. Sometimes I go off for a 'jolly,' and write about what I have seen and experienced, such as the gorgeous country homes, villages, churches and cathedrals, we have in this green and pleasant land we call England. Other times I just like to show the photos.
I spent a fun 15 minutes chatting about Only One Woman and writing with the talented Christina Jones, plus we nattered about being teens in the 1960s and what a fab experience that was for teens living through those heady times
My interview with theauthorsshow.com is live for 24 hours EST 13th August – pop over and have a giggle with me.
My interview with theauthorsshow.com is live – it went up 12.01am EST 13th August and will play for 24 hours from midnight to midnight EST and can be found in archives on the show after. Just look for my name and the book cover. https://wnbnetworkwest.com/WnbAuthorsShow6.htm Do drop in, I had such a giggle with the presenter, Linda Thompson, as we discussed the 1960s, Only One Woman, writing with the talented Christina Jones and more. We chatted about music in the 1960s and how Graham Bonnet and his hit single in 1968 – Only One Woman – came to be the title of our novel. Graham wrote the foreword for Only One Woman and tells how he met The Bee Gees and how they came to write for him and his cousin, the late Trevor Gordon (The Marbles). It is a fab read and of course, Only One Woman launched his singing career (Rainbow, Alcatraz, Michael Schenker, Blackmore and other bands). Only One Woman – an epic love story from the 20th century with lots of music, fashion, and the social change references not to mention the Moon Landings and the odd assassination and The Cold War! You’ll have ear-worms when favourite songs are mentioned and the fashions of the day will transport back with a heavy dose of nostalgia as you recall Jools Driscoll, Samantha Juste, Cathy McGowan and Twiggy, David Bailey, and all the bands of the time such […]

Undercover: Crime Shorts took me ages to collate. I found it so hard to pick the stories to go into it. I didn't want a huge book either, but something people can pick up and put down during a journey, lunch-breaks or just before going to sleep.
