Good morning and welcome to all my followers and to those new followers who have joined us here recently. Great to meet you here. I know you are all busy people and have many choices to make when visiting blogs and social networking sites, so I really am pleased you have chosen to make this one of your ports of call in your very full day. I am getting very excited about tomorrow and The Next Big Thing and I hope you will visit and see what it is all about. There will be links to other nominees for the coming weeks, so you will meet new writers and bloggers as a result. Well, today I am busy with NaNoWriMo – the novel won’t write itself and I am still working hard on Ms Birdsong Investigates – my ex MI5 Officer now residing in a small rural village in The Vale of The White Horse. I hope you all have a wonderful day and look forward to seeing you here again soon. Don’t be shy, leave a comment and say hello and let me know all about yourselves. I know some of you are fellow writers and I follow you too! Catch up later. Have a safe and happy day.
I have a new 1,000 word Flash Fiction Story published by Morgen Bailey on her blog on November 30th. about 7pm. morgenbailey.wordpress.com The story is called The Honey Trap and I do hope you will visit her blog and read my story and leave your comments. This is a story written wearing my Crime hat. It will be Pod-Cast by Morgen on March 24th 2013 – so do put that date in your diary. Last year she published another piece of Flash Fiction I’ve written called The White Witch of England – based on my experiences (well one experience in particular), working in the Music Business when I had to find and interview suitable candidates for an event we were putting on at the London Hippodrome, where we regularly held Shows in the 1980’s. The show was about Mediums, Clairvoyants, Spiritualists and White Witches. It was a riot and I am sure I shall write more about that whole period at some point in the future. The story was published on Dec 2nd 2011 and Pod-Cast on Jan 2nd 2012. The White Witch of England can best be described as Gentle Humour. Do visit Morgen’s blog as she has so much on there of interest to both writers and readers, and she has guest writers every week and various other events taking part on a daily basis. She is also a writer. Anyway, I really hope you will visit Morgen […]
I have been nominated by author Nicky Wells nickywellsklippert.wordpress.com as The Next Big Thing and I shall be chatting here and answering questions about my Works in Progress and published Short Stories on 20th November. Do come and see what I am asked and what I have to say. You are always welcome to comment, post questions and exchange your views with me here any time.
I had a lovely walk on Sunday. There had been a frost overnight which soon melted away when the sun decided to say hello. There was a beautiful clear blue sky and by about 10am it had warmed up nicely, so I thought I would go for one of my wanders and take some photos. The trees are still turning […]
http://www.facebook.com/JaneRisdon2 I’m being followed, by followers. How lovely. It is wonderful to look at my blog and see that I am being followed by such nice people who could, let’s face it, be following someone else, somewhere else. I am a follower too. I admit it. I follow other authors and artists and all sorts of people whose pages inspire and interest me, and so imagine what a thrill it is to find my blog (me) being followed too. I follow people, people follow me, we are all followers – do you follow? OK just messing around here, but seriously it is amazing that people I don’t know have taken time and trouble to find me and make a connection to me and to the others here. I do hope you will keep following me, it is such a thrill, and I shall continue to follow my chosen blogs too. Helping each other build an awareness and a group with common interests is marvelous, especially when none of us has ever met or is likely to meet. Welcome to you all and welcome to those who I know have followed me from my author page on Facebook. I have made some really interesting friends there. Authors I would never have connected with had it not been for Social Networking. Friends I had lost touch with are suddenly back in my life – fabulous. Groups with whom I share common interests […]
I thought I would add this photo of the Horse Chestnut featured in Gone in the blink of an Eye. At the time of writing I couldn’t find it. Here it is when it was well and in its glory – two years ago. I do hope our Ash trees don’t disappear now that they are infected with a nasty […]
Bleeding canker and moth larvae are a lethal cocktail for English Horse Chestnut trees and apparently within 20 years we won’t have any left. Arriving in the UK from Macedonia (Northern Greece) in 2002 this tiny larvae (leaf miner caterpillar) burrows into the leaves of the Horse Chestnut causing them to prematurely brown and wither in July and August and, […]
